Privacy

iqShell Mac is made by SmartData IQ. This page explains what the app and this website do with your data. The short version: we collect almost nothing.

The app

• No analytics, no accounts. iqShell Mac does not report usage, crashes or anything else to us.
• Everything is stored on your Mac. Profiles and settings are local files. Saved passwords, API keys and your license are stored in the macOS Keychain.
• AI requests. When you ask the AI assistant a question, the log text you selected is sent to the provider you configured (Anthropic or OpenAI) using your own API key, or to a model on your own Mac through Ollama. iqShell Mac masks common secrets such as keys, tokens and passwords first. This is pattern matching and cannot catch everything, so review sensitive logs before you send them. That provider’s privacy policy applies to what it receives.
• Update checks. Only when you choose Check for Updates, iqShell Mac downloads a small file from our website. It sends no identifying information.
• License check. If you have a license, iqShell Mac asks our license service about once a day whether that purchase was refunded. It sends only the license’s ID, never your email or anything about your Mac. If the check can’t reach the service, your license keeps working.
• Your servers and AWS. Sessions go straight from your Mac to your servers and to AWS using your own credentials. We never see them.

This website

The site has no analytics, no advertising and no cookies, and it loads no scripts or fonts from other companies. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for a short time for security.

Buying Pro

Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your email address and the fact that you paid, so we can send your license key and help you if something goes wrong. We never see your card number. Your license key is generated when you pay. We show it on the page after checkout and email it to you through our email provider (Resend). We keep no customer database of our own: Stripe holds the payment record, and we keep your email only as long as we need it to support your license and meet legal obligations.

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you by emailing [email protected].
